Welcome to the

FIBREHOLICS HOMEPAGE

new: Work 2005

Agnes is a self taught weaver who started weaving in 1990 and has been in love with this craft ever since.

Moving to New Zealand brought her in direct contact with fibre, the wool of her sheep's back had to be used in one way or the other - she learned how to spin and soon afterwards acquired her first little loom, a rigid heddle loom and still has her very first woven item!
After joining the local spinners and weavers guild and attending a couple of workshops she learned more about the craft and is now working on an 8-shaft countermarch, a 16-shaft compu dobby and a self converted drawloom. Weaving mostly shawls, scarves, baby blankets, knee rugs, household linen and yardage for clothing material, she is selling her work through different shops and galleries or from her studio at home.
She loves to work with fine yarns and because it is rather difficult to find what she was looking for in New Zealand, she started to import silk, cotton and linen yarns from overseas, first for her own use and later also for others.
